    Enfield Pins

Some useful info on pins used on Enfields. As well as being dimensioned in inches, most can be defined by (Britishicon) Standard Wire Gauge numbers (Christian Units). I appreciate that our colonial American cousins have their own wire standard, but these are British rifles after all.................

Of course there is the standard inch, and then we have the "enfield inch"
Before the No4, Enfields had a thread pattern that only exsisted there.

Armourers soon learned that you can use the long 'PIN, cap, fore-end', .... which hopefully Enfieldlock will remind us of the SWG number and diameter.... as a suitable replacement for the pin axis trigger and sear if need be and mag catch too on the Mk1/1 and 1/3.
