    Mauser K98

I have the chance to buy a beautiful K98icon. It's a DOT 1944 and has what I think is a VZ24 bayonet. I believe it may be a Czechicon refurb. All numbers match except the rear sight base and sight parts and the safety is electropenciled to match. The stock is number to the rifle as well, but I think it may have been new at time of refurb. Looking for some feedback on what to pay. Thanks in advance

    Question

For starts, some photos would help ID what you have.
Are there any other pencil etched nrs on the rifle? Is there a ser nr on the left side of the stock? Is there an X on the Rec or possible the bbl between the rear sight & rec? Any import marks? Does it have the stamped large winter trigger guard?

I really can't get pics. I can't find any Russianicon capture X, there are no import markings. The only EP'd part is the safety wing. I have noticed on further inspection that the rear sight parts don't match, but retain their original numbers. The stock doesn't have a number on the left, but rather under the buttstock, going across the bottom of the stock. This is one of the items that makes me think it is a Czechicon refurb. Also the front sight has a winged guard like the VZ24s. Thanks for the help so far.

Well, with that front sight it is most definately Not an original WW 2 built rifle.
Without photos I have no other ideas.
