    Rock Ola Restoration

I've managed to gather up the last parts needed to do a 'Restoration' on a Rock Ola 1,713,062. This was a CMPicon carbine that went thru a number of owners. Just about every maker including post War had some parts on it.
Both the receiver and barrel are just about void of any finish.
This one will be re-parked and will be a put together.
Only RMC I've ever had. More than likely the last that I'll re-build with vintage parts.
Besides killing my pocket book, I'm also worn down from hunting and swapping parts.
I'll get together some before and after pics.
I've put so much $$ into this one.......I'm nervous about starting it.
But looking forward to it at the same time.
Should make for a nice project when the snow starts flying.

Thanks to you fellow members who helped me out on this one.

    MR type IA band
    Type I Frt Sight marked T R
Flip Sight marked RR on base, A-R on leaf

    A-R mag catch
    Type II unmarked safety

Nice project! I wish you luck with it. It'll be a sweet carbine when done!!

Good luck with finishing up your Rock-Ola Charlie and thanks for the update!
I know how much time and effort it took you to find the parts needed.

I've seen your work and know it will turn out looking great.
Looking forward to seeing the finished project.

    Snow? (What is Snow?)

    ~ Harlan

    PS -
My Rock-Ola was a mixmaster, but had some neat parts - Rock-Ola I-cut stock, etc.
If anyone in the Dallas area bought it from a pawn shop enjoy it. My now 'EX'-Wife sold it and I can't do much about it legally.
(You were correct Charlie - Lesson learned)

I still don't know Ed. She sold all my carbines, or at least she now says she did when she has enough courage to pick up the phone.

Talk about hurting below the belt - Only a woman could be so cruel. My Rock-ola may have been sold via a pawn shop and it now has a scope mount drilled on it by a bubba.

That qualifies and cruel and unusual punishment! I don't even have a come-back for that.

How mant did you lose? (If I can be so nosey)

Don't feel bad, but I had six carbines Ed. One was a perfect late Inland that was completely correct down to the firing pin and was completely unmolested.

She also took my 1903 MK I with all the pederson parts intact, WWII Remington riot shot gun in 'new' condition checked out by Bruce Canfield, Germanicon FN 1922 officer pistol, and the .243 Mannlicher my late father left to me. It was his favorite hunting rifle.

I'm sure she got pennies on the dollar for my collection but my father's rifle was priceless to me.

Let's go back to talking about Charlie's Rock-Ola, OK?

Is that a early IP flip sight on a Rock-ola? And Charlie my wallet hurts for you.

    Hi Curt,
    Yes, it was.

I know Charlie's wallet must be stinging!

Charlie was the rear sight dove-tail heavily (heavenly for Inland44) staked? That was the only piece I didn’t change on my CMPicon Winchester due to the staking.
