What have I Got Here ?

Bought a box of 'assorted' Enfield parts.
Apart from odd springs and screws there was :

a Parker / BSA No9 rear sight with 10 different eyepieces. (very nice condition, no rust and everything moves as it should)

a Front sight cramp No1 Mk2 (for a SMLE) complete with the little brass engraved plate, calibrated and marked "inches per 25 yds"

a SMLE 'multitool' marked "W&S". Its a 3 piece 'fold up' type, but I thought the SMLE one was a one piece 'star-shape'

    and this 'thing'
Any ideas as to what is is or was used for ?

It is listed in the Parker Hale pre-war catalogues as a "Guide Muzzle" with part number A24 under Regulation Armourers Tools.

It clamps on the end of the barrel to prevent barrel wear at the muzzle from the steel cleaning rod, I beleive they made them for the SMLE, P14 & Long Lee. The nose cap may have to be removed on the SMLE to use it.
