I believe these are called "short snorters" and was a fad among troops both in Europe & the Pacific. One passed around notes in a group & everyone signed each other's bill.
Thanks!! I had forgot about that. Most of the names can be read and I am going to write them down and do some research.
Dad was in the RAF ferry command and gave me a bout 20 with many signatures and dates. The pilots used to tape their short snorters edge to edge and create a short snorter roll. If your research is successful I will try and find out who the guys on dads bills might be. I did find out the signatures are easier to read if you run the scan thru a photo program and raise the contrast and mute the reds.
As a matter of interest, would these notes have any true value if you were to present them to the Japanesetreasury?
I ask, because the BritishOccupation Army used similar money called BAFFS - short for British Armed Forces Special Vouchers. Someone told me recently that these old notes still had some value. I've got three shillings worth that my mum gave to me many years ago!
