BSA No.7 Mk.1, 22cal trainer

Hi guys. First time on, just came on board. Last week I found a real nice BSA No.7 Mk.1 but it's missing a few parts, bolt head, ejector and proper rear sight. Does anyone here have knowledge as to where I may start looking for these parts ?

You'll just about have to make them. There were a "pile" of those rifles (I think, or was it the Canadianicon version?) on the market some time back, all missing at least the bolt heads. Maybe the rear sight can be found, but you never know...

jmoore, I'm going to make the regular calls to ssporters, numrich, sarco etc but I don't have much faith. I recall a member at the club trying to get parts for this same type of rifle a few years back. I remember him mentioning that he could find stuff for the Canadianicon made rifle but not for a BSA. I'll be getting a book or two in the mail soon to help. Thanks much.

I was in the same situation several years ago when I purchase three BSA No.7 MkI Rifles from Springfield Sporters. I was missing the same parts! Ejector, complete Bolt head which includes firing pin and extractor, and .22 magazine insert. The rear sight that you have your rifle is correct. Even though BSA only made a little over 2,500 of these rifles for the RAF, I was able to find most of the critical parts. Some I had to make. I had to make the extractor and firing pin. I had to modify a BSA No5 .22 magazine. Originally, the BSA No.7 MKI used a modified BSA No5 .22 magazines. These original BSA No5 magazines are very hard to find. I purchase repro magazines from Western Gun Parts in Canadaicon. The ejectors which mounts on the side of the receiver came from Park-Hale which I believe is now out of business. The bolt heads came from a Britishicon company Lock, Stock and Barrel. I have posted some photos of the bolt and magazine insert to give you an idea of what to look for.

    I hope this was helpful.

    Cheers

Quite helpful indeed. I'll send mail to the Canadianicon company to see what they might have. I'm still waiting for a reply from two possible sources in the UKicon. You never know.

    Thanks
