    M1917 winchester bluing

Can I get an assessment on this Winchester bluing? Looks original to me, but I'm used to parkerizing.

It's possible but I would expect a little more wear on the front sight. Also the rear handguard ring looks like it is worn and turning a plumb brown color. What does the stock look like, pristeen?
I have two winchesters, both are of the group sold to britain. The bluing is very worn on the exposed parts but mint under the wood.

I think the camera is making the blue a little deeper than it is. Doesn't help that I'm colorblind.

It's got the unknown GMK mark on a winchester stock. BUT, as you can see it's blued and the clear marks rule out it being parked during arebuild, and then later blasted and then reblued.

Replacement stock maybe? I've only seen one other rebuild cartouche rifle that still had bluing.

rebuild program, included, clean and inspection, could include stock replacement, bolt replacement, and or refinish as well.
the marking on the stock is a rebuild mark.
