Looking at the condition of the rest of the stock, I don't see how that will fool anyone.

I was going to say, compare that wheel to the sling inlet...night and day, plus it would have had more wear

I am good gun buddies with a guy that knows badgerland_ken very good. He thought that maybe his son was selling on kens sight. I saw that yesturday and told my wife I could not believe he did that. She thought maybe he got it that way, I have my doubts. Even if he got it that way he would know it's not legit. He use to do alot of shows but got into the e-bay thing. Funny thing is he know guns and carbines, I can't imagine that he thinks that stamp is going to fool someone, or that he would even try. Maybe kens son is the stamper? I'll give my friend a call and try and find out.....Frank

Close up photo of the area in question no longer enlarges unless you click on the "enlarge" button first. Not a good sign.

Here's the picture from the auction.
I'm able to blow it up here by changing the zoom level % on the bottom right of my screen, just above the current time.
If you look closer you'll see paint left from a rack number in the grain.

    FWIW,

Charlie, I'll see my friend who knows ken tomorrow. I'm still hoping that it is his misguided son who is trying to sell this stock. It is so utterly fake, I'm embaressed that someone who lives this close to me would try and sell this.....Frank

Almost 6800 dealings.......... If it's his boy, I'm sure you'll hear him crying out from behind the wood shed.

    Cheers,

Good catch Charlie and well done. Agree, that marking looks very "young" to me. When you identify the thief, show him these pics. Both taken from the same stock and in my opinion this is what guys should learn about. Cheers mate. Mike.
