    Buttstock Spare Parts Container

Does anyone have or know where to get print drawings for the buttstock spare parts container? I have seen a few repros on E-bay but they go for a lot of money. I have not seen them anywhere else. I figured I would give it a go to try to make one myself. Doesn't seem to be that complex from the pictures I have seen. Thanks in advance.

    Pictures are from the internet.

Don't have the info you need , but I'd just measure a metal cleaning kit tube to start off and use the three parts as a guide . If you have a well equiped wood working shop , you might think about a run of these. I would bet a lot of people would like a cheep , fairly close copy for display.

    1. Go to Google.

    2. Click on "more" at the top of the screen and select "Books".

    3. Type "Colvin and Viall" in the box and click on "Search Books".

    4. Select "United Statesicon rifles and machine guns" at the top of the screen.

    5. Scroll down to page 242. This should depict what you're looking for.

    Hope this helps.

It took some trial and error but I finally got one to come out close to spec. It is made out of Maple cause it's cheaper than Black Walnut and I sent quite a few to the scrap pile before I got one to come out good. I found some Walnut dowels and will give it a go soon. It's more tricky to produce than it seems.

Add me to the list as well. You could most likely sell a bunch if you make a good repro.

Yes I have some repo 1903 parts containers. I made a batch of them. As it was stated there is a large scrap factor. The drilling of the walnut tube is difficult even with a jig I made to assist in drilling.
But I will need to look for them as after the move somethings are not were I remember they were.
