Ballpark value of commercial model 97??

A nearby gunshop had a couple of long barrel commercial, no military markings, 12ga Winchester model 97s for $425 & $450 respectively. I'd say on basis of a quick once over that they were in G-VG condition.

How're those for ballpark guesstimates of "fair market value"?

Are they solid frame or take down? Do all ser. #'s match? When one considers how many have been cut down for cowboy action shooting $425-450 would be a little high but not unreasonable for a take down in matching original configuration that has'nt been re-finished. Solid framers usually go for about $100 less, at least in my area. Getting hard to find them in good original condition around here, most are cut down, re-finished (poorly) or just plain worn out, and shootable 16ga's are almost impossible to find or afford.

If either or both were 16s, I'd have grabbed them if I had had to mortgage my 1st born! Finish I am confident was original. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about take down/not take down. Um, I didn't take time to look over them for matching serials though I do know how important that is to collectors.
    (after all I are one.))

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, my question has become moot. I am on a fixed income and with the price of everything going up, the amount of my 'disposable income has gone down, waayyy down!
