Numrick shows that they have both the original style and the spring modified type. Sprinfield sporters may have some originals.

I never even thought to check Numrich, Thank you Sir!
Many moons ago the ejector spring on my first M1917 broke. A very common failure. Being poor at the time, I repaired it by silver soldering a hardware store coil spring onto the ejector. The strength is not real critical. This repair is invisible and has lasted for many rounds.

As an aside to the M1917 ejector spring breaking being common. I recall a WWII book many years ago ( possible "An American Guerilla in the Philippines" ?) that said the querillas had issues with the ejector spring breaking on the 1917 rifles. The Philippino women would make springs by hand for the 1917s but these were only good for a few rounds before breaking also.
My original is still in good shape but I wanted to preserve it so I replaced it with a modern one with a coil spring (I think the same type fits the Remington model 30). I got it at Numrich.

I replaced mine by cutting a spring down from a ball point pen. Still working good.![]()

I used the broken original, notched it and inserted a ball point pen spring that was cut down. Works great.
