Gibbs Enfield Navy 45 -70 carbine

I figured this fits here as it's not a caliber specific page. Anyone have one of these? Are they reliable?

I have one because a dealer took it in in trade and wanted desparately to get rid of it. I have never shot it. With shortened barrel and wood, it still is very heavy and does not handle like a true carbine. My opinion is you would be better of with a lever action .45-70.
