where can I shoot 1919 & 1917 in PA?

New here guys - just found this site a day or two ago - panning to stick around

Anyway, does anybody know where I can shoot some side plate guns in eastern PA? I have a 1919 and a water-cooled 1917 and have no clue where I can actually use them.

Best to ask any gun clubs around you if they would allow the firing of such weapons. Forget the PA Game Commisions ranges as they have a mag limit and you must have a PA hunting license for admission.

Talk to the PA State police as they fire high cap mags and auto fire at some ranges. They probably would welcome you for the experience as long as you are class 3.

Some other collectors of those type of weapons actually have MG competitions but I do not know where they are

Actually, for the record, the class 3 is for dealers, and at least in PA, no special license is needed for full auto. Just need to apply and pay the federal transfer tax of a few hundred bucks (and fingerprint and background check - local authority sign-off for individuals as well). In fact, there are only a few select states that require a class 3 (dealer) license to own a machine gun.

I also have a 1928 thompson and an Uzi too, but those are small enough that the local indoor ranges let you shoot.
