    RC Kar 98K shooting low

Hello everyone, I am having some trouble with my Russianicon capture Mauser 98K. It is shooting very low, about 3 inches at only 25 yards. The rear sight is in standard position and the shot grouping was still tight, almost one on top of the other.

I was using a bench rest and shooting prvi partizan 198 gr FMJ BT ammunition, any thoughts?

    Thanks

they're calibrated to start out at 100 meters so you will not have pinpoint accuracy at 25 yards

For a sight to be dead on at 100 meters, it will also be dead on at a closer range and then high in between the two and low on the outside of the two. I never got into the ballistics of the 8mm so I don't know what the close in dead on distance would be. 3 inches off at 25 yards seems excessive.

We generally sight in our hunting rifles at 25 yards knowing they will be a few inches high between 25 yards and 125 yards and right on at about 125 yards But that wasn't an 8mm and every caliber is different.
