    single slot lock screws

Alot of variations, I have had these for a very long time. They all check out against each other with dimensions. Also there are some scews with an almost square blade slot too. None have a punch mark - could any of them still be Winchester ?

The one on the right in the first and last pics would be my choice for Winchester. It's on the left in the second. I have one here with almost no finish that resembles it very closely. The rough machine work seems to be the trademark of the time. I got mine from a pile of parts that came off a Winchester years ago in Canadaicon. I have a Springfield that's still on my LL and it's quite finely finished. But almost no finish left either. Need pics?
    Regards, Jim

Thanks for the offer, but I have some Lend Lease and early SA rifles too.

I just wondered if we should compare. I only have the two of them. Do you know which manufacturer is which with your three there?

My Nov 1941 Lend Lease gas cylinder screw is still a little different from the three screws in the photo - it is well finished and "flat top" without any bevel or rings

Mine too, It's very much like the first one in pic one. But not much finish. It's 8/41. Do you mean bevel as in the top outer edge?

Jim, maybe a very fine bevel as to just take-off the edge. The thing to look at is the screw or blade slot - alot of the SA have the rounded ends at the slot

I'd sure like to see a whole array of them to study the differences. I only have two and they're one of each...
