please help me ID the history of this Bren

Hi folks, a friend just bought this beauty and he is curious as to the meaning of all the stampings. Would you mind letting me know what you see there please.

    Thanks again

Looks like an Enfield made 1943 Bren - with the 3 stamped upside dowm. Probably went to North Africa and was issued to Australians from pooled Ordnance stocks. From there it was FTR'd at Lithgowicon in 1952 and re-proofed there. A picture of the whole thing would have been interesting.

    Next question.............

You are the owner of the finest light machine gun ever to grace a battlefield. Mere words will never do a Bren gun justice......
