Can anyone help me locate parts for a Webley MK IV? I need the spring steel clip for the right side release lever behind cylinder. Thanks Grandpa7

Thanks for the help. Does anyone know why some Webleys look like they are painted black?

Not being cheeky, but stating the logical - because they were.

Because once the cheap chemical blueing or controlled corrosion type of protection wore off in Military service, the guns were subject to a more rigerous protective process call phosphating in which the actual protective surface was an oil impregnated grey-ish colour. But to protect that surface, we then painted them with a black paint which was baked on until it gave a hard durable surface. Known to us a 'phos-and-black'

webley was so concerned about the public percetion of their finish of the mkIVs that they stamped "war finish" right on the side of those that did not get their regular finish , they took pride in their fine finished pieces ,
