Please Help Identify an Australian Bayonet!

    Hello,

Thanks in advance for any assistance in identifying this piece I have inherited. It has a 17" blade, and has the markings MA 1907 3 43 on the one side of the blade, and a wide arrow and X on the other. I believe it to be Australianicon. The scabbard is leather with stitching on one side and bears MA above the staple. I have pictures to share if it is helpful.

That all sounds Austrailian to me...MA is Lithgowicon small arms factory. The usual mark of WW2. Your 3/43 confirms this.

    Hi Jim,
Thanks for the reply. Do you know what this piece might be worth, and how I would go about selling it if I chose to?

It depends on condition, but here in Canadaicon they can command from $75 to $125 depending on manufacturer and condition. Yours is quite common so maybe $75 or $80 depending on condition?? You could put it on the WTS feature here and if you don't want to do the cross border thing, you can just sell in Canada. There's lots of Canadian members here...
    Regards, Jim

Appreciate it-thank you. I wouldn't know the first thing about determining condition, but can say it has a tiny bit of rust on the blade..other than that all is intact.
