Last month I went to our local gun show. I had only been there a few minutes when this real aggressive dealer started his sales pitch about some black powder rifles he had on his table. I was trying to be polite so listened as much as I could but was distracted by a M38 Carcano sitting off to one side. It was cut down and little rough but then I saw a $40 price tag on it. The guy saw that I was interested and before I could even open my mouth he shifted his sales pitch to the Carcano. He said a friend had died and the wife gave the rifle to him to get rid of. I asked him how the bore looked and he said "Ah hell I'll take $20 for it." Well being a little shell shocked I still had a look down the bore. It looked awful but I thought worse case I could use the gun for parts. Anyway I ramble. I promptly gave him a twenty. The only minus was I had to lug the thing around for the rest of the show. When I got home I scrubbed out the bore which turned out to be pretty good. I replaced the ugly red buttpad and put some linseed oilon the stock. The rear sight appears to be from a Martini Cadet. Note the custom gold monograms on magazine! This is a 7.35 SA Finn marked 1939 Terni.
