Stock ID Help

Can anyone ID this stock? There are no arsenal marks or inspectors marks. No "P" proof either. Looks like an "S" in it's place. Could this be a Sedgley replacement? Did they even make replacement stocks? Any help is appreciated.Attachment 38158

The stock was made at Springfield Armory (note S in recess for cutoff). The stock was made for a M1903 and will not fit a M1903A3, like many made at Keystone.

Is it common to not have any inspectors stamps or a proof ("P") mark?

Yes, it is. The stock may have been one that was a "local unit" replacement. There were only inspection stamps added if the rifle the stock was mounted, went through overhaul. Another possibility is that the markings were sanded off by a former owner. As Scant stocks were made in large numbers, I suspect the former was the case.
