Help with No 4 Mk1 RoF(f) ftr 1942 Serial G06217

hello everyone, . i am still new to this electronic stuff. i came to this site trying to find out more about this 303 brit. i was doing an old boy a favor, he needed some money so i now own another rifle. it doesn,t have full furniture like all the other ones that i,ve seen. the ser.# and markings are no 4 mk1 rof(f)ftr 1942 G06217 This is the only G i have seen in ser. #s .i am probably looking in the wrong places.

any help would be appreciated, i would like to go farther with this rifle.

If I remember the “GO” prefix was originally used in No.5 production. Any chance the bolt has a hole drilled in the end of the handle? Having gone through a FTR at Faz. almost anything is possible. Does the rifle have it’s serial number stamped on the left side of the butt stock socked as well?

drivr, A 'G' s/n prefix can be valid from any one of the three English No.4 manufacturers during '42. The digit immediatly following the prefix, or at least in the area, should be a '1', a '2' or a four numeral number. If you can post a picture of the left side of the butt socket it'd be a great help.

The FTR (F) means that at sometime it was re-arsenaled at Fazakerley.
