    No.1 butt stock on a No.4?

I prefer the slender and shorter grip area of the No.1 butt stock to that of the No.4 so I would like to put a no.1 butt on my no.4. Any unforeseen problems with this? has any one else done this?

It looks very possible. I am looking at the two buttstocks and they appear to be almost alike . Maybe the No.1 stock needs a little bit of wood trimmed off to fit a No.4 receiver.

    Search Peter Laidlers past posts.

If I recall correctly, Peter has posted before about doing this in service.

Thank you paulseamus that was most helpful. I thought I had read all of Peter Laidlers posts on fitting wood work but I managed to miss that one.
