South African ownership marking.
Union of South Africa 1910 - 1961
So is it the horseshoe or the arrow or both together that indicate South Africa?
This is the first time I have seen those symbols on an Enfield. Thanks for the great info
If you pull the rear hand guard off and check the barrel for a date, they rebarreled alot of these rifles and stuck them in stores, my first enfield was a south african as well, beautiful rifle with a brand new barrel. there are also have south African marked bayonets, and bayonet frogs, im betting there are slings to but havent found one yet.
