Picked up a nice No4. MK1. Numbers match except bolt (no # just an "F") and Magazine. Store sold it as a 1941 but tough to tell from the markings. It appears to have been FTR'd twice, First by Maltby with FMR with a T over the top of the M, then Fazakerly with (FTR) 4 mark. All of that is very faint. Looks like the serial number would date the rifle around 43 or 44 but the date has been overstamped on the last digits it looks like a 1. Everything is in nice condition #2 bolt head looks like never shot. A few odd things like a Savage rear sling swivel and an F on the micrometer sight.
Any ideas on the FTR? would that have been done in 54? Import marked with CAI under the muzzle. No other marks like it went anywhere like india or SA.Attachment 51220Attachment 51221Attachment 51222Attachment 51223Attachment 51224Attachment 51225Attachment 51226Attachment 51227Attachment 51228Information
