Bayonet ID - Spanish? Chineses? Something else?

Photos will come later but I picked up a bayonet today that I can't positively ID. It closely resembles a Spanish long bayonet but is a bit shorter, rounder in some areas, squarer in some areas. Blade is thinner.

Covered in black paint at one time on the blade, now 50% gone, rusty, worn, only markings are a serial number on the blade and a 5 under the grips. Grips are plain wood, probably replaced at some point as they do not reflect the condition of the blade.

Fits on my Hanyang rifle perfectly, but then so does a Spanish blade. Looks too abused to be Spanish, perfect for Chinese.

This photo shows the blade thickness on the cutting edge. Neither appears to have been sharpened.



These two show the different thickness of the cross guards. The upper cross guard is the same length on both. The lower cross guard is shorter on the unknown bayonet but does not show in the photo.





This photo shows how the unknown bayonet hilt is rounder than the Spanish.



This photo shows how the unknown bayonet hilt end is narrower and more rounded than the Spanish:



And finally, this shows the difference in length. The blade tip of the Spanish is touching the hilt of the unknown:



The unknown is missing any Spanish markings. It appears slightly lighter in nearly every dimension, even the muzzle ring is thinner. The grips do not appear to be Bubba made but arsenal made but are a bit rough with slightly squared flat sides. They are obviously not the checkered style of the Spanish and are not worn smooth.

This does not match any known photos of a Hanyang bayonet but extremely few of them exist and it is known China imported many bayonets from many locations. The only other bayonet I own that has heavy black paint on it like this is Chinese which is why I consider it a possibility. It is also possible it is simply a different production lot of Spanish bayonets.
