M1/M2 Buttplates

I found these in storage...Can anyone tell me what M1 these belong to or maybe where i can find out ?

Well forget the Help i was asking for. On a totally different topic about this website "Chestnutridge" i was lead there to look at there Oil they selll for Stocks by "sakorick" i found a very cool link there about M1 Buttplates Identifier as i was going through every link on there page to see what they have, and "BAM" there it was. THANK YOU SAKORICK. : o ) This was a good thing !!!

I've bought a rifle before because I had a bayonet, but never even considered building a carbine around a buttplate...

Yes, there's individuals here that can identify what make was shipped with those buttplates. Just give us a minute to find them...

I bought a Storage from a retired gunsmith. This storage is to the top and he specialized in WW2 Rifles and Pistol. I found that CZ 82 but I sent it to Vince from S.O.G. now Mesa Kinetics for total rebuild and finish in there. Theres just so much stuff in boxes that maybe once or twice a month i bring 2 big boxes to my house and go through them... i have probably over 60 M1 15 Round Magazines still in wax paper wrapping all marked and Types 1- 5, sights, hanguards, barrels etc, etc.

Sounds like you have an interesting occupation lined up for your retirement years - and a fun one at that. I'd rather dig through boxes of old gun stuff than anything!

Well im semi retired already.Now all I do is take care of my Familes and my Real Estate Properties. The Storage is so full that 1or 2 boxes every 3 to 4 weeks its like Christmas, you wouldn't believe what I've found...some of this stuff i have used and most of it sells fast and the older gentlemen that sold his store and retired was is business here for almost 40 years, he was apparently into alot WW2 and Korean Military and M1's parts and Six Shooters, I've found some very cool grips and frames from alot of old Rugers, some boxed up parts of 30-30's most of the money goes into my daughters college fund and the rest i sell or trade. But i used alot of M1 parts. I wish i knew more about woodwork i have several mixed color handguards from 2 or 3 Stocks ive found so far. The best one so far and has made me the most money is i found around 40 to 50 New M1 Carbine 5 round blued and parkerized Magazines.

Look up Chestnut Ridge Supply Gun Parts There are good photos to compare. Start counting dots and locations. Have fun. John

While you are going through those boxes if you come across a type 1 flip sight with a square S please let me know.
