    I blew the pic up without waking him...looks like he lost his buttplate for the carbine...I'd still have it though. Belt and contents too.

    You could slide that steel pot way down your neck and your head would just hang there in the webbing, actually pretty comfortable way to nap.

    A great photo of combat fatigue. Only after sleepless night after sleepless night could a soldier fall asleep in mid-day on a pile of rocks -- some mattress! Even a gun blast wouldn't wake this guy. Hope he got a good sleep and made it through the war. What is the insignia on his helmet?
