    Early Koishikawa Type 44.

Picked this up today..it's a Koishikawa no series Type 44. Serial number in the 3000s. There is what appears to be a small circle in front of the SN, but don't think that it's a part of it. Barrel is a 'B' code. Am I correct in assuming this may be even pre WW1? Have looked for one of these for quite a while, glad to have found it.

Koishikawa began Type 44 production in 1911. Depending on when production commenced and fairly consistent monthly production numbers your T44 was probably made sometime in late 1912 or 1913. Nice find. It's the earliest T44 I've seen.
