    Not strictly Enfield, but.......

The last threads on the old CSPicon forum related to the 'projector, spotlight' light thinggy that used to fix onto most weapons before the war. I believe that the late and greatly admired and respected Peter Bloom wrote an in depth article on these things some years ago. Has anyone got it that they could reprint here for our info.

The thinggy fitted onto the Bren and I mentioned this to an old Training WO s quick as a flash answered something like '.....we had a few here. A load of xxxx. NO training value whatsoever...... The oly thing good about them was the boxes. I've still got two that I use for old bits of wire and connectors for the Signals section' He did too!

Just proves that one man's trash is another man's treasure.

You're dead right John. It's usually the rubbish that gets chucked in the bin first that eventually becomes the rarest....... Just like bits for the spotlight projector
