    'Rasheed' carbine.

Ok, not Sovieticon, but does have a few combloc attributes. This one was made in 1967, and is in pretty good condition. This is the second one I've owned, and they've always looked to me as though an Egyptian Hakim an an SKS had a one night stand and this was the love child result. Taking it to the range tomorrow to stretch her legs....these are great shooters!

And this one's in 7.62x39 right? That should be a mild shooter...nice and heavy so it'll shoot from the shoulder like a .22...

Correct....7.62X39. And yes, very pleasant to shoot.

Also less recoil than the Sovieticon SKS, fun to shoot. Always thought the Rasheed was only
manufactured in 7,62x39mm ? were there any other calibers ?

The Rasheed is a copy of the Swedishicon AG42 LJUNGMAN rifle, in 8mm Mauser caliber. Egypt started producing them as the "Hakim" rifle, also in 8mm Mauser (7.92x57). Later they adapted it to the 7.62x39 cartridge (naming it the "Rasheed") to use the same ammo as their foreign bought AK and SKS rifles. I think they even use SKS type stripper clips.

Your correct, but the Rasheed is smaller in size as the receiver/magazine were designed to use the Sovieticon 7,62x39mm cartridge

Took it to the range today, put about 400 rounds through it. Ran like a top, pretty darned accurate as well.

I take it that's a 10 rd mag? Anything bigger available, or do you have several? And it clip loads from the top or what?

10 rounder, as far as I know there was nothing bigger. Mag can be taken out to load, I did try loading it one time from a stripper that I had some Yugoicon 7.62x39 in, didn't fit exactly right, so I just stuck with loading it manually. Doesn't buck at all, very controllable. Guy next to me wanted to know 'what the hell kinda SKS is that??' Had to give him a tutorial. My advice....if you can find one, get it!

Now I have to find an Iraqi manufactured Rasheed!
