    Remington 1903A3 Value

I'm newer here and thought I'd give this a try with a recent auction purchase.

Looking for appraisal opinions on a Remington 1903A3 S/N 4113089. I believe the gun to be a "greek return" based on the markings it carries. It has the last four of the S/N stamped into the stock and electro-pencil engraved into the bolt handle. The muzzle gauges an even "2" with a bight, shiny bore on 10-43 dated barrel. Most parts have the correct "R" stamp with most finish color being darker with part of the bolt being a green color. It has a stamped floor plate that does not open. The stock has an RIB EB stamp with a single encircled P behind the trigger guard. I've attached a few pictures.

Yep, it's a CMPicon purchase from the Greek military. I think the Greeks dip blued them when they went through workshops. It gives the metal an almost black finish.

I do plan on writing the CMPicon to see if they did indeed sell this one, just haven't managed to do it yet. What did the CMP sell them for $$ wise?

I think around 575 when avail.. they will charge 25 for a trace on it. If you paid between 700-800.you did well. They are running around that now.

I scored this one well under that price range, and actually had no plans to buy it. I was at an auction chasing some K98icon's. It was more of a sporting gun auction with a few milsurps tossed in and the crowd didn't seem interested. Grabbed a 1939/147 K98 the same day. I'm familiar with the CMPicon research process.... might take a bit longer with their current carbine release.... seems they are a bit busy!

Just call Anniston and speak to Sandy Farlow, she is the record clerk and you will have it in about a week.
