    Rifle Storage Method

Not sure why I didn't think of his before but in any case, I discovered a way to get my rifles out of the way and safe from damage. Hanging them from the ceiling.

I used 2 1x4's spaced 21 inches apart and attached bicycle hook hangers every 5 inches. Secure the boards to the ceiling with long screws into the joists and they are up and out of the way. If you need to further secure them for legal reasons, a wire cable could be run through each of the trigger assemblies and fastened to through bolts on each end. An 8 ft section will hold 18 rifles. Make sure to use the rubberized bike hooks.

Just now seems strange not having a rifle sitting here in the corner.

I did that back in the '80s but changed it as my kids started to get old enough to not only be aware but have friends in the house. We also have safe storage laws here now that would preclude such storage methods...and I prefer to have them out of sight too...

I figured there would be some issues for some of you. I still live in the land of open gun racks, etc. I don't display mine either, anyone coming in isn't going to know I have guns unless I show them. This particular room is off limits.

I could likely get away with a "Room" which would be called a "Vault". There was a time when I had enough stuff to sit and entertain myself by just looking at it all...
