Second Round: Shortened Lee Enfield Mk 1 NoIII*

I realize that there was a thread back in 2009 about this and there is a LONG article in the Knowledge Libraryicon about these***, but with only the 15 examples (7 real) examples I thought I'd add mine with some interesting tid-bits.

    Anyone else seen these before??

This seems to be on the money with Badger's 1942 dated subject rifle, and wanted to give him some pics incase he is still wondering. (If anyone knows how to link him, I'd be greatfull) Attachment 73695Attachment 73696Attachment 73697Attachment 73698Attachment 73699Attachment 73700Attachment 73701Attachment 73702

I have, there's one here in my town with an old collector. There's a small date stamp on his of "44 back at the butt socket. I'd be careful of them though as I built an example myself for a man that was dying to have one back in about '97 or '98. I think it lives in the Calgary area now. Believe me, it looks good...
    Regards, Jim

The way to tell the fakes from the factory made is............... Should I say or not? The would could be awash with them. There are about 3 (or 4?) variants.

  4. Thank You to Peter Laidler For This Useful Post:

Yes, there are. Some very different from this one. I just kept mine simple. I'd NEVER pay for one that was guaranteed original...like the M1icon rifle of the same ilk. Just look at it and leave it. The butt looked at first glance to be for a #4 rifle.

This rifle appears to have a post-war Ishapore forend.

I really want to know, but it makes sense to keep it off the internet.
