    CMP M1 Garand stock w/metal

I purchased a stock set with metal to see how they looked and was very pleased. From my understanding all the metal is new production but looks pretty good.

What finish are you going to put on her? I prefer BLOicon or pure tung oil myself.

I ordered it on estore sometime in December along with a barrel. I will probably redo it like the other stocks I have done. Fiebrings brown leather dye and gunny paste wax. I dont particularly care for the light brown color.

Nice color on that Garandicon stock.
12 week wait, quite a bit of time.

I used 1 coat of 50/50 BLOicon/denatured alcohol first,It helps to slow down the wood from getting too much color. Then 2-3 coats of febriengs dark brown leather dye(alcohol based)that I cut with the alcohol about 50%. I also used wet dry sand paper 200 or 400 grit and after you get some color on it you wet the paper with the alcohol(it keeps it from guming up)

After I let it dry I gave it a couple coats of gunny paste wax(bees wax, turpentine and B L O)

I have a can of Fairtrimmers but havent tried it yet on a new stock yet.
