Looking to make more exact ID of u/i VZ24 stock.

Received this stock and hardware in an auction bundle. Appears to be a VZ24, and I'm anxious to pair it with an appropriate barreled action, preferring 7mm, not concerned about collectabiility as much as genuine feel and shootability. The pictures show most was blued, and the few visible stamps on the wood (none on the metal).
    Any ideas? Thanks

No clues for me. The Czechs exported these all over the world and it could be 7mm wood or 8mm wood. Very hard to tell today.

Shame...id hoped the channeling and the Parkerized bits, plus the stock markings might bring if a little closer to at least a continent or caliber

Would there even be a difference between a 7mm and an 8mm stock? Seems like it would be a lot of effort to make specific parts for two types when the only difference needed is the inside of the barrel. Barrel exterior profile could easily remain the same thus no need for a different stock, bayonet lug, barrel bands or handguard.

Do you know any friendly dealers/traders or shooter/collectors that would help you out by trying a few different Mauser metalwork variations in your stock? I think that is the only way that you are ever going to find out what fits into your woodwork and what doesn't.

It's a large ring for sure, 8.75" between the receiver screws and 1.41" across the ring channel. Any good sources for large ring 7mm barreled actions true to the Vz. 24?
