This is a 1936 Tula Simonov Trials Rifle, one of at least 3 ( maybe as many as 5) versions produced in 1936 to try out different features to upgrade the 91/30 Infantry Rifle. Approx 10,000 of each version was produced but all have these unique trials rifle features like the Mauser style nose cap ( it took the same bayonet as the AVS36), open bottom barrel bands, bedding pillar for the front action screw, S/N that starts with a “0” and a control number on the L/H side of the butt stock, as well as other features exclusive to it's own design team. The Russianicon government never implemented these changes and the rifles where latter shipped to Spain as aid for the Republican Forces during the Spanish Civil War. This particular rifle is all Original, all matching, non import marked and has wire sling hangers (indicative of SCW use) .

I hope you enjoy the pics.
