    Interesting Lanchester Mk.I* Trigger Housing

Hello all, first post. Disabled vet with some time on my hands now so figured would join some forums instead of just nosing around them. Anyway recently picked up an interesting Lanchester trigger housing that has a cutout on the rh side at the sear area. I can't seem to find any reference to it in any of my books and was wondering if perhaps anyone here could offer some insight as to what it may have been for. Many thanks.

Might I suggest that as it is a separate piece not fixed to a gun, that it was PART of a stripped skeletonised gun to show the movement of the trigger bar and the sear and the lowering of the sear. No need to show the trigger acting on the trigger bar because you can see from the rear. But open to other sensible suggestions

That was also suggested on another forum as well and I tend to agree that may well be the case. The cutout is perfectly clean with no evidence of marring showing a "sloppy cut" or anything like that so care was taken to make the cutout. Thanks for the reply Peter.

You ought to outline the cut portion of the cut out in red. That's how it would be in our service
