Timney Trigger for Yugo M48...

So I have a Timney Sportsman trigger for my M48 but I'm a bit hesitant to install it when I look at how much wood I'm going to have to remove from the stock. Can anyone verify that removing that much wood from the stock will not be detrimental to the structural integrity of the stock?

Unfortunately no. The trigger came in right before I left for deployment, so I only had enough time to figure out it would take a significant amount of wood removal. Whether it would be too much to maintain structural integrity I don't know. I won't be able to do much until I get home next year, but I've been thinking about it, so I thought I'd ask.

As for the Timney on a battle rifle... Normally I would agree, but the trigger is horrendous. It is literally the heaviest trigger pull I have ever felt.

I'll bet you could have improved the existing trigger pull with some judicious stoning of mating parts. That is, the surfaces that move against each other. That's what is normally done...a smooth stone... It doesn't take much.
