Is a type 5 operating slide and type 3 housing correct for Inland in the 4.9 serial # range? Thanks in advance!

I think both could be correct for your serial number. The type III trigger housing for sure. The type V slide is right at the changing point by some accounts.

I have a 4.963 million Inland with the type 5 slide, type 3 trigger housing, flat bolt, type 1 barrel band, and low wood stock.

The 4.9s were right on the cusp of big changes. Almost anything can be found on them original in most any combination except Type III bands, but the huge majority of them had Type I or II bands, flat bolts, Type IV slides, flip sights and push safeties. Type V slides were coming in along with Type III sights and the new bolts, and some of these carbines had some of these parts.

Thanks guys! From my reading I thought that was the case but I knew the experts here could confirm or correct it for me. So far I have found all the parts to restore this barrel/receiver I'm working on except the stock. When ever I get it all together I'll post a few pictures. Even though it wont be original it is still fun to restore it but it's the first and only one I'll try.
