Nice variance here from CanadianForces in the early fifties, chucking working dogs out of a DC3, which I came across whilst writing my book BING - The Parachuting Dog during WW2:

A good friend of mine ran a dog through both theaters of this last conflagration, he's done his parachute regt time too but said he hadn't jumped his dog. It never came up for him.
