    Now that is interesting, all of the DI’s are PFC’s. All of the Sergeants are out in the FMF commanding squads and Being platoon sergeants

    You have to wonder how many of those young Marines made it through to VJ day. It's reasonable that at least half of them went to the Western Pacific and Infantry battalions with Okinawa and Iwo Jima yet to come.
