    2 Feuer Hand Oil Lamps

I have 2 bring home lamps from a friends Fathers time in the ETO. His Father was Airborne, but I'd have to ask about unit.
Anyway he passed a locker on to me that has many items I'll have to research.

For now, with no pictures available yet I have 2 Feuer Hand Oil lamps.
    Both marked made in Germanyicon.
The taller one is a N0 176, the smaller one is a No 75 with red globe called a Atom. This small one has a back plate on it that is original to it. On the back plate is a metal catch that looks like it could/would slip over a belt or something similar.
Both same color... a darker olive green

Until pictures: This auction picture is the big one I have. The 176, same shape/style though mine has no glass globe:

    Anyone familiar with these ?
Searching for a source of information/link

Had a Colon O rooter job today. Will get pictures and measurements in a day or two.

    Thx All

In my family we call this type of oil lamp a "Hurricane Lamp" and we use to have 2 permanently on hooks in the kitchen to provide some light during the frequent power cuts of the early 1970's. A multitude of different sizes, makes and style of lamp were and to a certain extent still are available.

If the lamp that you have actually states "Made in Germanyicon" on it I would question if it is actually WW2 ex Wehrmacht. I would, however, expect the possibility of finding "Made in Germany" on a lamp intended for export

IIRC Both say made in Germanyicon.
This company is still in business.
Problem is..... any and all I see on auction sites are being called Ex german army used. (Imagine that)
    Which can't be.....
I have to figure out when the models were made.... the small details.
The little Atom 75 with back side shield/bracket is really interesting.
I could see it being used because of the red globe as a rail yard or even on the back of a bike or jeep. Of course I'm just guessing now.

    Appreciate your info Flying10
