MKIII Barrels coming soon to Canada

Hi Gents

A few years ago I build a gun drill and rifling machine. Just recently I did a MK III dummy barrel. To check angles, dimensions, etc. Before profiling the real deal.

Here are a couple of pictures. One image has a MK III forend extension to check fit in the barrel channel.

Will start on MKIII barrels first and then move onto MKII and MKII match barrel profiles.

I have toyed with the idea of making a rifling machine at some point, my idea would use a adjustable taper and a rack and pinion turning a small chuck which holds the tool steel for cutting the rifling. My thought simply being rifling is basically really long, shallow threading

By changing the size of the pinion it will change the twist. ( teeth count). Rack runs the length of the gun drill. No taper used. Light scraps, sharp tool.

This is an older thread , so I must ask did it work out? Cause if it did I have money looking for a home!

The Dealers Warehouse, Modesto, CA has piles of MkIII barrels. All UK make and nice. Just call them for one.
