    A win

Once and a while friendships come through a friends mate has given up reloading due to dexterity issues so got rid of all his powder stocks.
So I received a call asking did I want some, well due to current situation I jumped on board he had 2208 which I have a good amount of so ok there.
He then said 2206 ! I said 2206H - No 2206 this is in the tin before Hogdon began making it that's where the H comes from so yesss sir I'll take the lot 3 x 500g tins.

Thinking that they would be in daggy condition I was surprised they are in pristine condition one is half full but the inside is still shiny.
So now I have some collectible tins not sure I'll use it might try the half tin as this is the powder my APRS likes. I'm wrapt........!

We have a gunshow coming up this end Oct should be good. Don't know what will be available but any powder/primers should go like hotcakes. Primers here are now $110-$220CDN per thousand and powder averages $110CDN...per pound.

Yesterday a flyer from Brownells said they had Hodgdon Varget. Sure enough...Hodgdon website even has 8lb kegs. I believe Varget comes from ADI over there. It hasn't been seen here since mid-2019. I take this as a sign things are continuing to stabilize. Cabelas has had a reasonable and steady selection of usable rifle and pistol powders, little to no IMR though. But...primers have been on the shelf every day this month...small/large pistol, small rifle, and small rifle magnums.

Powders here are still short pistol powders especially 3-4 weeks ago people were asking and getting $1000/Aus for a 1.5 Kg container of Trail Boss so the powders are very expensive you cannot get Vihtavouri powders for the last 8 odd years here in West Au my N165 batch is 1.2.2012 got 1.5Kg's of that.
Berger projies unobtainium Australiaicon wide, Hornady projies are getting scarce and Sierra's same.

Your 1Kg of say 2206H or 2208 (Varget) are running at around $145/Au but pistol powders are way above that if you can get them!

I think ADI has a contract to the US military so that takes a fair bit of the production made but any powder you can squirrel away go for it my wife and I saw this looming around 4 years ago with Bergers hit and miss supply to Australiaicon, good business to hedge Jim you never know whats going to happen.

So we brought a good deal of Bergers for our rifles but I also branched out and did the DOPE and loads for my 6.5 x 284 with Hornadys 143gn,147Gn ELDX Match, Nosler 140Gn RDF's along with unobtainium Lapua 136Gn L's, 139Gn Scenna's, data gained with 4 diffrent powders/primers/cases/jumps/ladder tests.
(Also hedged on these projies as well)
The load data cost me 2 barrels (I was also shooting comps) time consuming bl**dy oath it was but I now have that data for future barrels just tweek as required.
