    Strange engraving on U.S M14

Hi All. I don't know if I am on the right forum, but I have been looking at a number of USGI Winchester M14icon's and I have noticed for the second time this identical strange little engraving on the heel. Does anyone know what it could mean, or it's significance? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We had M14s come in from Israel by way of Lever arms in Vancouver in the '80s. The story was the rifles that bore that mark had been zeroed with the bolt accompanying them. It's an electro pencil "0". The bolt should be marks same but over time I expect bolts were changed.

Most I saw marked were the TRW rifles.
    Regards, Jim

Thank you Jim. Sorry I know the way I posted the photo didn't have the engraving highlighted. I appreciate you answering me. The only other one I ever saw was one that was from the Channel Islands. The photo of the one I posted is an all original Winchester complete with all Winchester parts made in March 1963. I wished I could have purchased it 25 years ago, but all the original owner had left were photo's of it. If you have any further info on this rifle, please let me know. I have been doing a lot of research on the USGI ones. This has always been my favorite military rifle next to the BAR.
