    Milsurp Madness

I just started an inventory of my firearms for future reference of my heirs. I'm not as bad as some hoarders, thankfully, because I go for quality over quantity. I think I may qualify for a treatment program

These are DCM or CMPicon .22 target rifles

    Win 75 Target
    Rem 513-T
    H&R M12
    Rem 40-X
    Win 52D
    Kimber Model 82 Govt
    Springfield M1922
    and for more fun,
Bushmaster CMP AR with USAF .22 conversion

What DCM/CMP .22s do you have?

my CMPicon inventory will be very short---like 0. But I do have perhaps 40-50 other '.22's, like you all are excellent.

What no Mossberg 44s? I have 8 of them from the CMPicon plus one 42 with lend lease markings. Where is the Remington 541X thought everyone has one of those? I only have one of them. You do have a 1922 and that is one I am lacking want to trade for a couple Mossbergs?
    I have:
8 Mossberg M44s remember when they were $75 each?
    1 Remington 541X
    2 H&R M12s
    4 Rem 40X (one USMC)
    1 Win 52D
    3 513Ts
    1 Kimber 82

I have a 75T but it is not US marked. Still looking for the 52C and a Mossberg 144. heck looking for a Winder Musket as well.

I have never sold a .22 I got from the CMP there are some of the neatest guns they have sold and all were in very mimited numbered compared to the Garands or carbines.

Got lots of other .22s as well but these are the CMP/DCM guns.

No Mossbergs. I had a couple of commercial Mossbergs and I wasn't impressed. I don't have the space for a complete collection like MK111, so I buy what appeals to my historical and aesthetic interests.

Next I would like to find an H&R Reising or a Stevens 416. And eventually I would like to have a Colt 1911 to go with my Colt .22 conversion unit.

I have a CMP Inland M1icon Carbine I would like to trade for a US .22 trainer I don't have.

Just a thought: I read somewhere that the poster's greatest fear was that his widow would sell his collection for what he had told her he paid for it.

LOL, BUT that is a nightmare I want to avoid, which is why I am including pictures and current values in my inventory. I encrypted the file and put the password in the safe. I should probably print it out and put a hard copy in as well.

WOT?!! No one has a Winchester Model 55 "automatic single shot"?! 1st gun my dad ever bought me...and a great 1st gun it was, too - just watch where you put that support hand!!

    Ad says: "12 aimed shots...in 60 seconds"

    My bad...these are "Milsurps"....obviously a Model 55 is not...wish I could cancel, but...now everyone knows I'm an idiot!

DRB info on your unmarked Win 75. The experts claim that non of the Military Winchester 75 where US Property marked. Only markings normally seen are re-build stamps on stock like a "P" on bottom of pistol grip. I have seen two US Property stamped Win 75's and the experts claim they where fakes. Hope this helps. Check your serial number range for war time production. They claim the US goverment bought them up to 1946. I have a 1946 dated one for sale now that is rebuilt marked and parkerized.

I have a LOT of .22 LR target rifles but the below list came from the CMPicon.

    Winchester 52D
    Remington 513T
    Mossberg M44

I think the 513 is my favorite. We used DCM 513's in the 70's on the high school rifle team. As soon as the CMP released the 513's several years back I'm sure my package was one of the first to arrive, I wanted that rifle very, very badly.

Whenever I take someone shooting for the first time I grab the 513 and a brick of Winchester white box and start them off the same way I did. I love to sit there and watch them shoot, the smile they get when they shoot one in the middle is priceless.
