Thumbs up Retired and more time to enjoy my hobbies

Looking forward to being more involved in my hobbies now that I am retired. Been in the world of collecting WWII weapons for 20 years and enjoy collecting M-1 Carbines, M-3's, M-4's, 1911-A1's, M-1 Garandicon's, and 1903-A3's. Will be setting up a small display of M-1 Carbine's at the Alabama Gun Collector's Association March 26th and 27th in Birmingham, Alabama. Tommy Phillips and Jim Brandt will also be displaying some of their Carbines. This show will be the AGCA's Militaria show with plenty of things to see.

    Collect to preserve,

    Doug Yates

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Welcome to retirement! Its really great. My only issue is that my ex-wife made me get a job to PAY for my gun hobbie (read 'addiction'). Enjoy the freedom, but be sure to leave some weapons for those that don't have any free time yet.

Welcome to the board! I have four more years until total retirement at age 62 1/2. I already retired from LE, and am teaching until I get Social Security, too. (If it is still there??????)

Now we get to enjoy more pictures of your excellent collection! Looking forward to that! Myself, still a few years to go to retirement. With a son headed for college hopefully, not even sure of that.

I could buy a carbine a month with what I pay for my daughter's tution every semester - plus another with the cost of the books... Guess she's going to owe me some guns once she graduates and gets a job!

Ok, who is not posting pics of their collections????????
