Thanks Oramac, I was beginning to think having this post moved here was a total loss, other websites are pulling well, but this has hardly moved considering the amount of members here who have these rifles.

The early "Sportco" branded 44s appear to have come in three serial number blocks:
DK followed by three digits
DL followed by three digits
SDU followed by three digits.
No info on quantities or dates of changes of number blocks.
Also, not sure yet what happened after Omark industries took over completely.
I have two of these beasties: one is a 44 in original trim but with the retro-fitted larger pin in the bolt, and a "Lane" rearsight. The other is a 44D, set up with a scope and a 22" Black Mountain barrel in a Neillsen adaptor for metallic silhouette.
Both shoot quite nicely. When I get home, I'll have a look at the numbers.
