It's funny but all the people that I deal with face-to-face are really nice. ebay seems to bring out the worst in some people.
Did he/she tell you that you don't know what you are talking about? Which seems to be standard response - amongst the bile.

Help me here...are we speaking of a #4 bayonet? A rusty one at that? 79 Pound Sterling? Documented to have been Capt Peter Laidler
's?

Not mine Jim........... I put a superb completely overhauled, bead blasted, phosphated etc etc NO32 Mk2/1 with all NEW L1A1 optics and drums/turret parts and did a nice little spiel about it - as you do, only to find some turkey continually coming back saying that I really ought to get some proper sound advice before I start hyping it up to be something that it wasn't! Well, you can but try. And being polite, even in a barbed way costs nowt as my dad used tp say Like calling someone you don't like SIR....., but spelled CUR!

Hahahahahahah! I think he doesn't like me, (sad face). He sent me this:
"well I know its worth about a tenner if lucky but sometimes you get lucky , plus it's to wind up all you "experts" which has obviously hit a raw nerve . feedback comments mmmm".

Actually, as far as I know, ebay doesn't have any rules against listing bayonets. There are hundreds of them on the site! Even No. 4 spikes are plentiful. This lister could easily have found the going price by searching for other ones.
The expensive ones are the No. 7's. Also cruciform No. 4 Mk. I's.

In the UK
we're not allowed to put them on that auction site. Which begs the Q, what are MK1's worth in the UK or US - generally speaking? The real irony is that the worst bayonet ever in terms of mechanical reliability was the No7........., now worth the most (if it is of course!)

Ninteen and counting. Perhaps potential bidders will notice the others listed cheap.
