QHMC "Tube"

QHMC with a tube for the slide spring, different than my other carbines. I think this is just representative of an early gun, but not 100% certain as my book does not show it. It's 100% original I think (not just correct) carbine that I bought 30 years ago.
Any info that can be shared on it is appreciated.

Looks like a nice one! All QHMC carbine had the detachable spring tube. Looking at the ser. # I think your was built in the 2nd block.

Yes, I looked up the S/N and it's a 2nd block gun but my list does not indicate when it was built and there is no date on the barrel. When was it made?

If the ser. # is 159xxx it would approximately July-Aug. '43. Others can narrow it down closer.

About July 1943 for the serial number in the 1.59 million range.
